Mums and Dads, you can join in the fun too
Many of our helpers and Leaders are parents of past or existing scouts. This allows them to see first hand how Scouting benefits all involved, allows them to spend more time with their children and even teaches them new skills. Speak to us to discuss how you can become involved.
I will only be able to help out on a flexible basis is this ok?
Yes. There are many different ways to help us and many of these can be adapted to suit your needs. Whether you can help out once a fortnight, a month or term or just at special events or camps, there is bound to be a role you can play.
We need...
Uniformed Leaders, as well as non-uniformed helpers for specific skills. We need parent involvement to help running the Groups, we need you - now.
We have sections that are having to keep membership numbers down because of lack of help, and we have boys and girls who want to join, we need help - now.
We can promise you that it will be fun, as well as a rewarding experience - helping young people aspire to skills, values, and community service at this formative time in their lives, they need you - now.
How?
As a parent you've pretty much had the basic training (eyes in the back of your head, endless patience, strong stomach, sense of humour!), however you will be CRB vetted by the police in the interests of the safety of the young people we work with and on the job training is we've found the best way to develop your scouting prowess.
You can get more information on Scouting by emailing us your contact details and we will be in touch with you as soon as we can to discuss your new role.
