Fundraising
Obviously we cannot provide this service to the young people in our community without help, so we rely on donations from the parents and families to fund the activities that we provide for the children and young adults in our care.
Our leaders and helpers provide their service to the group in their spare time. They receive nothing in return aside from the satisfaction of seeing the young people in the community grow into successful balanced adults.
We need your help! There are many ways that you can contribute to the finances of the Scout group, and some of them are simpler than you might think.
Donations
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this is the simplest and most effective way of supporting our Scout group. We will always warmly receive donations of any size towards our group. Please hand any donations to a group leader when you drop off or collect your child/youngster, you will be making a very valuable contribution to your community and you will always earn our gratitude!
Other Fundraising events:
Jumble Sales - Usually held 2 or 3 times a year
Race Nights - A fantastic evenings entertainment
Shepperton Fair - The Burger, drinks, Tombola and Bric 'a' Brac Stalls are our biggest fundraiser
Where is the money used?
The costs of running a Scout group are often much higher than people realise. We spend and enormous amount each year purchasing the equipment and materials that we need to run activities for our group members. Examples include paper, pens, games and sports equipment, heating, lighting, camping equipment, tables, chairs, the list is endless!
We are always looking for fundraising ideas, so please let us know if you have any flashes of inspiration. We have a team of fund raisers who always need help with suggestions for making money. They are volunteers too, so if you'd like to become involved with the Scout group to earn some additional cash (even if it is only occasionally) then please contact us. You can e-mail us at info@1stsheppertonscouts.co.uk
All of your efforts will go towards a very good cause.
